This tenugui combines joie de vivre and tradition. It is manufactured by the family-run company HAMAMONYO in Yokohama – a manufacturer with over 75 years of experience in the traditional wet-print dyeing technique (Yokohama Nassen). The motif is hand-printed on a fine cotton fabric that is bleached without chlorine and specially developed for tenugui production. It is soft, skin-friendly, and pleasantly light.

It depicts a Mame Shiba dog sitting beneath a bright red wagasa umbrella , while delicate cherry blossoms (舞桜) fall in dancing swirls. The scene is serene, playful, and full of Japanese springtime spirit—a combination of symbolism, humor, and aesthetics that is both decorative and emotionally appealing.
