This tenugui depicts a humorous train ride with cheerful pandas against an iconic backdrop. It is manufactured by the Yokohama-based family business HAMAMONYO – a manufacturer with over 75 years of experience in the traditional wet-print dyeing technique (Yokohama Nassen). The motif is hand-printed on a fine cotton fabric that is bleached without chlorine and specially developed for tenugui production. It is soft, skin-friendly, and pleasantly light.

The image depicts a modern train packed with pandas looking out the window, dozing, or waving. In the background, Mount Fuji rises majestically against a clear sky—a loving play on everyday culture and Japanese national symbols.
