This tenugui depicts an elegant, high-contrast spring motif with gently falling cherry blossoms (sakura, 桜) against a deep black background. Delicate pink and white blossom branches glide into the image from above – as if one were standing beneath a shidarezakura (枝垂れ桜) on a peaceful night. The clean lines and subdued play of colors lend the motif a particularly refined effect.

It is manufactured by the traditional family business HAMAMONYO in Yokohama – a specialist in the Yokohama wet dyeing technique with over 75 years of experience. The cotton fabric used is chlorine-free bleached, soft, skin-friendly, and was specially developed for tenugui production.
