This tenugui combines floral elegance with the luminosity of a Japanese summer evening. It is manufactured by the family-run company HAMAMONYO in Yokohama – a manufacturer with over 75 years of experience in the traditional wet-print dyeing technique (Yokohama Nassen). The motif is hand-printed on a fine cotton fabric that is bleached without chlorine and specially developed for tenugui production. It is soft, skin-friendly, and pleasantly light.

White moonflowers (yogaō) are visible in the foreground, while colorful summer fireworks (natsu hanabi) illuminate the sky above. The scene is reminiscent of a Japanese summer festival—festive, luminous, and yet tranquil. A motif that captures the light, scent, and colors of summer.

Whether as a towel, gift wrapping (furoshiki), headband, table runner or decoration: This tenugui is versatile, easy to care for and accompanies everyday life with quiet quality.

The motif was awarded the OMOTENASHI Selection Gold Award in 2022 – a tribute to Japanese hospitality, craftsmanship and design.

• The raw edges may fray slightly during washing—this is typical of tenugui and not a defect. Excess threads can easily be trimmed with scissors.
