Tenugui “Fuji to Gojūnotō” – HAMAMONYO, 100% cotton, made in Japan
Tenugui “Fuji to Gojūnotō” – Japanese cotton cloth
Summer view of Fuji and pagoda
This tenugui features an expressive summer motif with a view of Mount Fuji and a five-story pagoda. The motif comes from the long-established family business HAMAMONYO in Yokohama, known for over 75 years of experience in the Yokohama wet printing technique. The fine cotton fabric is bleached without chlorine and is ideal for tenugui production: skin-friendly, lightweight, and supple.
In the foreground, green vegetation unfolds in rich colors. The red pagoda contrasts strikingly against the iconic Mount Fuji, while seagulls quietly fly through the summer sky. The composition artfully combines nature, culture, and harmony.
Whether as a towel, gift wrapping (furoshiki), headband, table runner or decoration: This tenugui is versatile, easy to care for and of high aesthetic quality.
The motif was awarded the OMOTENASHI Selection Gold Award in 2022 – a tribute to Japanese hospitality, craftsmanship and design.
