This tenugui brings the feeling of a sunny spring morning home: cherry blossoms in full bloom, a clear sky, snow-capped Mount Fuji, and a red pagoda amidst the blossoms. It is produced by the Yokohama-based family business HAMAMONYO , which, with over 75 years of experience, masters the Yokohama wet printing technique. The cotton fabric is chlorine-free bleached, particularly skin-friendly, and was developed specifically for tenugui production.

At its center is the five-story pagoda (五重塔, gojū-no-tō) , nestled amidst a sea of cherry blossoms (桜, sakura) . Cranes cross the sky while delicate petals float through the air—a scene full of lightness and new beginnings.

Whether as a towel, gift wrapping (furoshiki), headband, table runner or decoration: This tenugui is versatile, easy to care for and brings the beauty of Japanese spring into everyday life.

The motif was awarded the OMOTENASHI Selection Gold Award in 2022 – a tribute to Japanese hospitality, craftsmanship and design.

• The raw edges may fray slightly during washing—this is typical of tenugui and not a defect. Excess threads can easily be trimmed with scissors.
