This tenugui depicts a peaceful winter landscape with gently falling snow, a red pagoda, and Mount Fuji under a bright full moon. It is produced by the Yokohama-based family business HAMAMONYO —an expert in the Yokohama wet printing technique with over 75 years of experience. The cotton fabric used is chlorine-free bleached, exceptionally soft, and was specially developed for tenugui production.

At its center stands a five-story pagoda (五重塔, gojū-no-tō) rising against the white Mount Fuji. Cranes fly through the night sky, while snowflakes sprinkle pine branches and rooftops—a winter greeting of quiet elegance.

Whether as a towel, gift wrapping (furoshiki), headband, table runner or decoration: This tenugui is versatile, easy to care for and a stylish companion through the cold season.

The motif was awarded the OMOTENASHI Selection Gold Award in 2022 – a tribute to Japanese hospitality, craftsmanship and design.
