This Furoshiki bears the name 亀甲に花菱 ピンク (Kikkō ni Hanabishi Pinku) – "tortoiseshell with floral diamonds in pink". The design unites two of the best-known traditional Japanese patterns: the 亀甲 (Kikkō), a hexagonal pattern modelled on the tortoise's shell, is regarded in Japan as a symbol of longevity and constancy. The 花菱 (Hanabishi), a stylised floral diamond from Japanese heraldry, stands for elegance and dignity. Delicate dark blue-violet motifs on a warm pink tone give the cloth a festive yet timeless character.

  • Washing: Machine washing up to 40 °C is perfectly fine. For strong colors (especially red/dark blue), we recommend washing separately the first time to prevent color bleeding.
  • Drying: Air dry is best. The shantung fabric dries quickly.
  • Ironing: The characteristic texture of the shantung fabric is best preserved if the cloth is shaken out after washing and air-dried. If necessary, iron on a low to medium heat setting.
  • Note: Do not use bleach to protect color brilliance.
