A timeless symbol of protection and healthy growth
This elegant tenugui is called麻の葉縞 コン (Asa no Ha Shima Kon) – “Hemp Leaf Stripe Dark Blue”. It features the traditional Asanoha (麻の葉) pattern, one of Japan's most famous geometric designs, which symbolizes vitality and resilience due to the rapid growth of the hemp plant.
The design captivates with a fascinating visual depth created by a vertical gradient in various indigo and blue tones. The white lines of the Asanoha (麻の葉) pattern lie across the background like a fine net, forming a rhythmic structure of stars and hexagons. The combination of the deep blue and the geometric rigor lends the scarf a cool, masculine elegance, making it a versatile accessory for modern interiors.
The design comes from HAMAMONYO , a long-established textile manufacturer from Yokohama. Thanks to the Yokohama wet printing technique, the colors appear particularly vibrant and clear, even in subtle color gradients.
