This impressive tenugui bears the name日本のこと 富士山 (Nihon no Koto Fuji-san) – “Things of Japan: Mount Fuji”. It unites the country's most famous symbols in a dynamic composition that radiates strength and timeless beauty.
The design depicts the snow-capped peak of Mount Fuji (富士山) , rising majestically against a radiant red sun. In the foreground, powerful white waves break, reminiscent of classic Ukiyo-e woodblock prints. The subtle gray background makes the deep red and dark blue of the mountain appear particularly vibrant. This motif captures the sublime nature of Japan and brings a touch of Far Eastern aesthetics into everyday life.
The design comes from HAMAMONYO , a long-established textile manufacturer from Yokohama. Thanks to the Yokohama wet printing technique, the colors appear particularly vibrant and clear, even in subtle color gradients.
