This tenugui features a striking summer scene with a view of Mount Fuji and a five-story pagoda. The design comes from the long-established family business HAMAMONYO in Yokohama – renowned for over 75 years of experience in the Yokohama wet printing technique. The fine cotton fabric is chlorine-free bleached and ideally suited for tenugui production: skin-friendly, lightweight, and supple.
In the foreground, lush green vegetation unfolds in vibrant colors. The red pagoda stands out in striking contrast against the iconic Mount Fuji, while seagulls glide serenely across the summer sky. The composition artfully blends nature, culture, and harmony.
Whether as a towel, gift wrapping (Furoshiki), headband, table runner or decoration: This Tenugui is versatile, easy to care for and of high aesthetic quality.
The design was awarded the “Gold Award” of the OMOTENASHI Selection in 2022 – a recognition of Japanese hospitality, craftsmanship and design.
