Tenugui “Hayazaki Sakura to Fuji-san”

This tenugui showcases the vibrant beauty of the Japanese spring in a classic landscape motif. It is crafted by the family-run company HAMAMONYO in Yokohama – a manufacturer with over 75 years of experience in the traditional wet-dyeing technique (Yokohama Nassen). The design is hand-printed onto a fine, chlorine-free bleached cotton fabric specifically developed for tenugui production. It is soft, gentle on the skin, and pleasantly lightweight.

The image shows early-blooming cherry blossoms (早咲き桜, hayazaki sakura) in vibrant pink, unfolding against a clear horizon. In the background, snow-capped Mount Fuji rises beneath a luminous red sunburst. The scene radiates both tranquility and strength – a symbol of new beginnings, light, and nature in balance.

Whether as a towel, gift wrapping (Furoshiki), headband, table runner or decoration: This Tenugui is versatile, easy to care for and accompanies everyday life with quiet quality.

The design was awarded the “Gold Award” of the OMOTENASHI Selection in 2022 – a recognition of Japanese hospitality, craftsmanship and design.
