This tenugui depicts the luminous beauty of Japanese spring in a classic landscape motif. It is manufactured by the Yokohama-based family business HAMAMONYO – a manufacturer with over 75 years of experience in the traditional wet-print dyeing technique (Yokohama Nassen). The motif is hand-printed on a fine cotton fabric that is bleached without chlorine and specially developed for tenugui production. It is soft, skin-friendly, and pleasantly light.

It depicts early-blooming cherry blossoms (hayazaki sakura) in vibrant pink, unfolding against a clear horizon. In the background, snow-capped Mount Fuji rises beneath a bright red sun. The motif radiates both calm and strength—a symbol of new beginnings, light, and nature in balance.

Whether as a towel, gift wrapping (furoshiki), headband, table runner or decoration: This tenugui is versatile, easy to care for and accompanies everyday life with quiet quality.

• The raw edges may fray slightly during washing—this is typical of tenugui and not a defect. Excess threads can easily be trimmed with scissors.
