A timeless classic of Japanese elegance
This elegant tenugui is called Koiki Sakura – “Elegant Cherry Blossoms”. It depicts a dense sea of small cherry blossoms that bloom in a deep navy blue against the light fabric, thus capturing the timeless beauty of spring (haru).
The delicately drawn sakura (桜) are arranged in such a way that they appear almost like a rhythmic, graphic mosaic. The use of kon (紺), the classic Japanese dark blue, lends the traditional floral motif a modern yet grounded touch. The design's mood is calm and focused, yet still evokes the lightness of petals dancing in the wind.
The design comes from HAMAMONYO , a long-established textile manufacturer from Yokohama. Thanks to the Yokohama wet printing technique, the colors appear particularly vibrant and clear, even in subtle color gradients.
