This tenugui depicts a delicate spring motif with dancing cherry blossoms (桜, sakura) against a bright full moon. The scenery is reminiscent of a dream: white and red petals float through the air, while a stylized hill in the background gently rounds off the composition. It is manufactured by the long-established family business HAMAMONYO in Yokohama—an expert in the Yokohama wet -dyeing technique with over 75 years of experience. The cotton fabric used is chlorine-free bleached, soft, and skin-friendly, and was specially developed for tenugui production.

The colors range from light pink to dark red, reminiscent of the beautiful cherry blossoms in spring. The calm, almost meditative motif represents transience, new beginnings, and quiet moments of contemplation.

Whether as a towel, gift wrapping (furoshiki), headband, table runner or decoration: This tenugui is versatile, easy to care for and a piece of high-quality Japanese craftsmanship.

• The raw edges may fray slightly during washing—this is typical of tenugui and not a defect. Excess threads can easily be trimmed with scissors.
