Tenugui “Sakura Shinryoku”

Cherry blossom splendor amidst the young spring greenery

This cheerful and colorful tenugui is called桜新緑 (Sakura Shinryoku) – "Cherry Blossom and Fresh Greenery". It depicts a classic scene from a Japanese garden: a young woman in a kimono beneath a sea of ​​pink sakura blossoms, flanked by fresh spring greenery.

In the foreground flows a clear stream with koi carp , water lily leaves, and falling flower petals. The red bridge, a typical element of traditional gardens, connects the lush green with the soft pink of the sky. This design symbolizes nature's renewal in spring and the harmony between humankind and the landscape.

The design comes from HAMAMONYO , a long-established textile manufacturer from Yokohama. Thanks to the Yokohama wet printing technique, the colors appear particularly vibrant and clear, even in subtle color gradients such as the delicate sky in the background.

Like many of the company's products, this Tenugui has also been awarded the OMOTENASHI Selection Gold Award – a sign of authentic Japanese quality and design.
