Spring greetings under cherry blossoms
This tenugui brings the feeling of a sunny spring morning into your home: cherry blossoms in full bloom, a clear sky, snow-capped Mount Fuji, and a red pagoda nestled amidst the blossoms. It is produced by the family-run company HAMAMONYO in Yokohama, which has mastered the Yokohama wet -printing technique for over 75 years. The cotton fabric is chlorine-free bleached, particularly gentle on the skin, and was specially developed for tenugui production.
At the center stands the five-story pagoda (五重塔, gojū-no-tō) , nestled in a sea of cherry blossoms (桜, sakura) . Cranes cross the sky while delicate petals float through the air – a scene full of lightness and new beginnings.
Whether as a towel, gift wrapping (Furoshiki), headband, table runner or decoration: This Tenugui is versatile, easy to care for and brings the beauty of the Japanese spring into everyday life.
The design was awarded the “Gold Award” of the OMOTENASHI Selection in 2022 – a recognition of Japanese hospitality, craftsmanship and design.
