This tenugui displays a finely tuned interplay of natural motifs and tranquil design. It is manufactured by the family-run company HAMAMONYO in Yokohama – a manufacturer with over 75 years of experience in the traditional wet-print dyeing technique (Yokohama Nassen). The motif is hand-printed on a fine cotton fabric that is bleached without chlorine and specially developed for tenugui production. It is soft, skin-friendly, and pleasantly light.

The image depicts lushly blooming hanging wisteria (しだれ藤) cascading like a natural curtain over a tranquil koi pond. Gentle ripple rings (波紋) spread through the water, creating a scene full of stillness, depth, and aesthetics. The motif is reminiscent of a clear spring day in the garden—fragrant, tranquil, and slightly turbulent.
