An elegant companion with majestic cranes

This stylish scarf is called和ちいふ 祝鶴 紺 (Wa-chifu Shukuzuru Kon) , which translates to "Congratulatory Cranes in Navy Blue." The design celebrates one of Japan's most noble symbols: the crane ( Tsuru ), which represents longevity and good fortune. Against a deep navy background, the white birds, with their characteristic red accents, are depicted in a dynamic flight formation, giving the scarf a celebratory yet timeless aesthetic.

As part of our Wa-chifu series, this towel offers a noticeable functional advantage: Made from fine cotton gauze , the material is exceptionally thin, soft, and gentle on the skin. Measuring 50 x 50 cm, it's an ideal, handy companion for daily refreshment on the go, as an elegant accessory, or for stylishly storing small treasures.

The design comes from HAMAMONYO in Yokohama. Thanks to the traditional Yokohama wet-printing technique , the colors are particularly long-lasting and the contours of the flying cranes remain razor-sharp, giving the fabric a particularly high-quality finish.

Care and instructions

  • Wash:Washable up to 40 °C.
  • Recommendation:A laundry net is ideal! It prevents zippers or buttons on other garments from pulling threads out of the terry cloth side ("thread puller").
  • Dry:Do not tumble dry. The heat could cause the two different layers of fabric to shrink unevenly, resulting in the cloth becoming misshapen. Simply pull it into shape and hang it up.
  • Thread puller:Should a terry cloth loop come loose: Do not pull on it! Simply cut the protruding thread short with scissors. Since it is a woven loop, this will not create a hole.
  • Softener:Use sparingly or not at all, as it reduces the absorbency of the terry cloth ("gliding effect" instead of drying).
