A heartfelt thank you in Japanese

The charming lucky charm for small tokens of appreciation

This lovingly designed little towel bears the nameありがとうございました豆柴 (Arigatou gozaimashita Mameshiba) – “Thank you very much, Mameshiba”. It is a wonderful way to say “thank you” in the Japanese way, accompanied by the loyal gaze of the beloved Mameshiba (豆柴) .

The design features a small dog in a festive red robe, surrounded by harmonious geometric patterns in soft pink tones. The message "Arigatou gozaimashita" (Thank you very much) makes this towel an ideal gift or a thoughtful gesture in everyday life. Unlike the traditional, smooth tenugui, this wa-taoru is a functional hybrid: the printed front is made of fine cotton, while the back is crafted from soft, absorbent terry cloth – perfect for quickly drying your hands on the go.

The design is by HAMAMONYO from Yokohama. The combination of traditional aesthetics and modern comfort makes this towel a durable and cherished companion.

Care and instructions

  • Wash:Washable up to 40 °C.
  • Recommendation:A laundry net is ideal! It prevents zippers or buttons on other garments from pulling threads out of the terry cloth side ("thread puller").
  • Dry:Do not tumble dry. The heat could cause the two different layers of fabric to shrink unevenly, resulting in the cloth becoming misshapen. Simply pull it into shape and hang it up.
  • Thread puller:Should a terry cloth loop come loose: Do not pull on it! Simply cut the protruding thread short with scissors. Since it is a woven loop, this will not create a hole.
  • Softener:Use sparingly or not at all, as it reduces the absorbency of the terry cloth ("gliding effect" instead of drying).
